2017 Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
Residents of St. John the Baptist Parish may be eligible for financial assistance with their utility bills through the Low-Income Home Assistance Program. Services will be provided at St. John Department of Health and Human Services located at 128 Central Avenue in Reserve, Louisiana. All applicants must show permanent residence in St. John Parish, provide information outlined below and meet the following income guidelines identified by the state.
Size of Household Monthly Income
1 $ 1,905
Following information is necessary for your appointment:
- Your income for one month/4 consecutive check stubs
- Utility bill (heating/cooling )
- ID Picture
- Social Security cards for everyone living in the household
- And, Food Stamp recipients must present a household electronic notice from the Department of Children & Family Services.
LIHEAP services will be facilitated by Health and Human Services staff and scheduled by way of Volunteer Phone Bank on Friday, January 20, 2017 between the hours of 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. For an appointment, all interested residents should call the Volunteer Phone Bank at 985.536.1024.
Health and Human Services staff not accepting phone calls or walk-ins for this particular service at department’s location due to the high volume of people requiring service. St. John Parish Residents seeking LIHEAP services will be scheduled through phone bank appointments only.
