Summer Food Service Program

The Summer Food Service Program provides nourishing meals for six weeks during the summer months to all children on the East and West Banks in St. John the Baptist Parish.  Children who are eligible for enrollment in both public and private schools in St. John Parish may participate in this healthy and fun event.  The Department of Health and Human Services partners with St. John Parish Schools to execute programming activities. 

Participants enrolled in St. John Parish Recreation Summer Camp Programs and  are automatically eligible for free meals provided at the summer feeding sites.  In additionl, mentorship and sponsorship opportunities are available to assist the program with cultivating a nutritious and healthy opportunity for all children. 

Eligible children at each site will be served the same meal at no charge regardless of race, color, handicap, sex, age or national origin. If you believe you have been discriminated against, write immediately to the Secretary of Agriculture Washington D.C. 20250.
