BOIL ORDER LIFTED for LaPlace area
10:30 am on September 23rd the State Dept of Health and Hospitals approved the samples
ST JOHN – The St. John Utilities Department received notice at 10:30 am on September 23, 2009 that the samples from the LaPlace water system had shown negative results for bacteria and as a result, the Boil Order that was put in place Monday has been lifted. Samples were taken yesterday once the water system was back into operation and the samples were then sent to the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals for testing. The residents of LaPlace can now drink their water without any Boiling processes
The Order followed the break of the only major water line delivering water to the entire city of LaPlace. The break occurred around 9:30 am on September 21st and work crews repaired the line by 5:15 that evening.
Residents will be notified of the lifted Boil Order by phone, website, and the government's access channel.
