St. John the Baptist Parish - Parish President Natalie Robottom, her Administrative staff, and Council Members Larry Snyder and Lennix Madere joined owners David and Creshell Brown for the July 26 ribbon-cutting of The Jambalaya Shoppe. Joined by staff, family and members of the River Region Chamber of Commerce, the owners are officially open for business at 150 Belle Terre Blvd in LaPlace.
The casual eatery, known for its jambalaya & other Homestyle Cajun food such as gumbo, crawfish etouffee, fried fish and pastalaya, offers a dine-in and take out menu that caters to large groups or individual portions. Lunch specials are offered daily and as a special bonus on Tuesday, all buckets of jambalaya, in which is made fresh daily, are $5.00 off. Customers can also choose from a variety of sides which include white and red beans, rolls, green salad and potato salad. Desserts are offered as well.
The Browns have a history of cooking and managing restaurants and a passion for food and flavor. “We are overwhelmed by the support from St. John Parish and plan to stay open for a long time,” Creshell told ribbon cutting attendees.
The Jambalaya Shoppe will host a grand opening for the public on Saturday, July 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. which will include free jambalaya and door prizes. “The Jambalaya Shoppe offers a variety of delicious menu items in addition to their specialty jambalaya,” said Parish President Robottom. “I encourage all residents and business owners to support this family-friendly establishment and enjoy this mouth-watering food.”
Monday-Saturday: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Sunday: 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
