St. John the Baptist Parish – Residents are urged to make preparations for severe weather and heavy rainfall by clearing catch basins and drains and removing debris and tree limbs at homes and businesses as well as monitoring weather stations closely.
Prolonged heavy rainfall for 5 to 7 days is the main threat for our area associated with Hurricane Harvey, expected to make landfall on the Texas Coast Friday or Saturday. Approximately 5 to 10 inches of rainfall are expected with isolated higher amounts depending on track.
Out of precaution, sand and bags are available at the locations listed below: (please bring a shovel)
