The 44th Annual Andouille Festival Announces $1 Night to Benefit Hurricane Relief

 

Additionally, a portion of poster proceeds will benefit breast cancer research.

 

St. John the Baptist Parish - The 44th Annual Andouille Festival presented by Marathon Petroleum Company, LP announces Friday, Oct. 13 is $1 Night. On $1 Night, adult entry is $1 with the donation of a non-perishable food item. Additionally, all rides and select concessions are $1. Donated items will benefit victims of Hurricane Harvey and Irma. The festival is set to take place Friday, Oct. 13 to Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, at Thomas F. Daley Memorial Park, located at 2900 Highway 51 in LaPlace, La.

 

This year’s music lineup features Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, Mojeaux, 4 Unplugged, Faith Becnel and the Music Krewe, Catch22, Chee Weez, Phat Hat, Gina Brown & Anutha Level, Dwayne Dopsie & The Zydeco Hellraisers, DJ Captain Charles, Zulu Walking Warriors and Mardi Gras Indians, Changing Times Band and more. Additionally, official festival posters and Pay-One-Price Ride Bracelets are currently available for sale at the St. John Parish Economic Development Department, Matherne's Supermarket in LaPlace and Don's Supermarket and Greg's Supermarket in Reserve. Posters are also available at Roussel’s Antiques and Jewelry. In honor of breast cancer awareness month, a portion of poster sales will be donated to breast cancer research.

 

Food vendors highlight the festival namesake, Andouille, in their dishes as well as local cuisine and festival favorites. Vendors will have a wide range of andouille-based dishes including andouille egg rolls, smothered rabbit and andouille poboy, andouille sausage sliders and andouille gumbo. The festival will also feature other local Louisiana favorites like crawfish monica, stuffed bell peppers, fried alligator, bacon wrapped shrimp and more.

 

The Andouille Festival provides music, festivities, great times and food cooked with andouille, the delectable sausage for which the festival was named. Thousands of people gather each year at the parish tradition to participate in the many events the festival has to offer. This year’s festival features the Andouille Cook-Off, Dang Douille Eating Contest, Second Line Parade and more including the first-ever RTC/Home Furnishing Football Fan Zone.
