The Manhole Restoration Project began on June 11, 2012. The purpose of this project is to restore a number of defective manholes and prevent hydrostatic infiltration. This work will include plugging of holes and break repairs as necessary to seal the surface area to prevent infiltration. In addition, the interior of the manholes are coated with a fast drying (within one hour) Epoxy coating surface finish. Also, several manholes located in low elevation areas such as ditches will require reconstruction in order to raise the existing manhole up to a surface level above the flood waters. Completion of this project is expected at the end of July 2012.
Upon completion of the Manhole Restoration Project, the second phase of the Inflow and Infiltration Project will move forward by repairing identified faulty collections lines.
